Volunteer and Help Others
Examples of Volunteer Opportunities
Advocacy – Counsel older adults about benefits they are eligible to receive and assist with applications. We will train you about government guidelines and special enrollment criteria so you can educate individuals and families about savings and discounts.
Clerical/Administrative – Check in with older adults through well-being calls, send out reminders about events, help us organize files, and update community records in our computer system.
Events – Assist our caregiver and community relations staff at various education events.
Fundraising – Develop creative ideas with us and help raise funds to support our mission.
Home-Delivered Meals – Brighten someone’s day by delivering meals to older adults in the morning one day a week Monday through Friday.
Marketing – Help us build awareness of our great work in 20 communities and/or share your story about the role of PLOWS Council on Aging in your life, the life of a friend or family member
Professional Skills – Put your skills to work for us on our Advisory Council or a committee.
Programs/Education – Volunteer to teach a seminar, lead a fundraising effort and/or educate our staff about a new resource in the community.
